Cirque du Soleil’s ‘KÀ’ lets fans go behind the scenes at the MGM Grand
A twin brother and sister escape danger in Cirque du Soleil‘s “KÀ,” the gravity-defying show at the MGM Grand. Now fans can go behind the scenes of the show during new free open houses every Tuesday at 11 and 11:30 a.m. starting this week.
Guests can learn more about the show, including details about its 360-degree rotating stage that tilts and stands up on end during the production. The backstage tour showcases much of the inspiration behind this $165-million production.
As many as 86 artists from around the world perform in this show that includes acrobatics, Capoeira dance, puppetry, projections and martial arts.
The show itself starts with archers and spearmen hunting down the twins, who become separated. One escapes on a boat that travels through a storm at sea. The other takes a man-powered flying machine to get out of danger.

Along the way, they encounter giant sea creatures on a sandy beach, learn the art of shadow puppets and take a spin on the Wheel of Death.
Cirque du Soleil named this show after the ancient Egyptian belief in the “ka, an invisible spiritual duplicate of the body that accompanies every human being throughout this life and into the next.”
“KÀ” performs Saturdays through Wednesdays at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
