So, apparently we really will have to remember those annoying Yosemite name changes.

At first, when the National Park Service and former concessionaire Delaware North started skirmishing over this at the beginning of 2016, it seemed the two might patch things up so that the beloved old names, like Ahwahnee, might return quickly.

But many months have passed and management at Yosemite has been worrying about a few other things.

So let’s review. since March 1, the former Ahwahnee Hotel has been the Majestic Yosemite Hotel.

The former Yosemite Lodge at the Falls has been Yosemite Valley Lodge.

The former Curry Village has been Half Dome Village.

The former Wawona Hotel has been Big Trees Lodge.

And the Badger Pass Ski Area has been Yosemite Ski & Snowboard Area.

They’re here. They’re surrounded by deer. Get used to it.
