LAX officials are warning those traveling this weekend that a six-mile stretch of the 405 Freeway north of the facility will be closed from late Friday til early Tuesday, possibly affecting traffic around the nation’s third busiest airport.

Dubbed “Jamzilla,” the closure of a northbound stretch of the 405 from Getty Center Drive on the south to Ventura Boulevard on the north is about 10 miles north of the airport. But given the domino effect of L.A. traffic, LAX is urging travelers to give themselves extra time and stay atop conditions.

The President’s Day weekend closure begins at 7 p.m. Friday and is expected to last til 6 a.m. Tuesday.
