Mild temperatures make winter a good time to go horseback riding, hiking, mountain bicycling or just kicking back in Tucson -- and one dude ranch will pay you to fly there too. All-inclusive Tanque Verde Ranch offers up to $399 in airfare credit for guests who stay at least four nights.

The deal: I like the Cold There? Fly Here! deal (even though it’s far from cold here in L.A.) because of the credit, which guests receive when they present their proof of payment. Note that the perk is per booking, not per person. L.A. fliers can often find fares to Tucson on sale for less than $100 each way.

The package includes all meals and activities for two, and starts at $549 at the lodge, $625 in a casita and $725 for a hacienda. And there’s much to do at this 60,000-acre dude ranch near the Rincon Mountains: horseback or mountain bike rides, hiking and fishing, nature programs, bingo at night. It also has a children’s program for kids 4 to 11.

When: The offer is good through the end of April.

Tested: I checked availability and found the deal available for Feb. 12 to 16 (over Valentine’s Day). The $549 room comes with two queen-sized beds. Total for the four-night stay including tax comes to just under $2,500.
