Feb. 15 -24: Riverside County Fair and Date Festival( Riverside County Fair and Date Festival )
Don't be distracted by the elaborate ostrich and camel races. This festival in Indio for more than 60 years has honored the mighty date. You can sample date milkshakes, date gelatos and date dishes whipped up by local chefs, and then see who triumphs in a date recipe contest Feb. 16.
