California: At Ojai’s Oaks, a $240 room nets 40% off for your child
Before boot camp and Pilates there was the Oaks at Ojai, a resort that has been balancing exercise and relaxation for decades. The all-inclusive wellness resort in Ojai has announced 2014 getaways that honor moms, dads and friends -- and let you save 40% when you bring a child or a friend.
The deal: To start with, all overnight stays include 15 fitness classes (optional, of course); healthful spa meals plus snacks and beverage; a consult with a health technician; use of swimming pool, hot tub, saunas, etc.; as well as live evening programs and free Wi-Fi.
The Oaks gets good buzz on TripAdvisor for its emphasis on fitness and health in a relaxing way. Owner Sheila Cluff, 76, told The Times in a recent interview what guests can expect when they visit. “The manager on duty will meet with all the guests and hear what their goals are, and will explain everything that is available -- hikes, walks, treatments, facials and so on,” she said.
Here are some 2014 discounts including tax and fees available at the 46-room resort just a few hours north of L.A. Two-night minimum stay is required, and rates are the same for weekends or weekdays.
--Mother and Daughter (or Son) Discount: Mom pays full fare (starting at $240 a night) and each child 16 and older receives a 40% discount when they stay in the same room. The deal is available Jan. 1-10 and May 9-16.
--Father’s Day Discount: Dad pays $240 a night and mom or daughter each receive a 40% discount when they share a room with Dad. He also receives free day passes to Ojai Valley Athletic Club. The offer is available June 13-20.
--Bring a Friend Week: Share a room with a BFF and receive 25% off the per person rate of $240 a night. The offer is available Feb. 1-9.
