What are you doing this weekend? Fly-fishing in the Eastern Sierra
Egads and little fishes, as my mom would say. I say give me the healing waters of the Eastern Sierra and trout on dry flies, caught, fought and released. It's nirvana in a rushing flow, only five hours north on Highway 395. There's not a better way to get fresh air and exercise -- and see sights that you might otherwise miss. Gas up, gear up, get a license and go. To read more about regulations and seasons, go to California Fish and Wildlife.

Fly-fishing in the Sierra( Darrell Kunitomi )
Every Sierra canyon offers a hike, amazing photo ops and usually a freely rushing trout stream. You might think I'm just grinning for the camera, but I'm happy because everyone else is going up the mountain, leaving the stream all to me. There is nothing in trout fishing like untrodden water.
