China goes crazy for classic cars at Beijing-Shanghai rally
A Bentley S1, a Volkswagen Scirocco and a pink Cadillac Coupe de Ville are among the more than 50 classic cars wheeling their way across China's heartland this week. The Beijing-Shanghai Classic Cars Challenge 2013 set off from the Great Wall on Saturday, and now the vehicles are zipping their way toward the port city of Shanghai on a rally that's more than 1,100 miles. This is the third year for the event, classic car events being relatively new in the country. The rally ends Monday. Here are some of the cars on the road right now.

A Bentley S1 and a Volkswagen Scirocco (rear) are among the rally cars. The Bentley was, of course, a luxury car. The Scirocco was a sporty coupe designed to replace the Karmann Ghia. The Scirocco was introduced in the U.S. in 1975; most had manual transmissions.
