In Nebraska, a cache of old cars brings in big bucks at auction
Classic cars—lots of them Chevys and many of them classics—went on the auction block Saturday and Sunday in Pierce, Neb., where car dealer Ray Lambrecht had squirreled away about 500 cars. The Lincoln Journal Star reported that 15,000 people came to Pierce, about 140 miles north of Lincoln, to check out and bid on the cars from the cache, some of which went for close to six figures. In case a car wasn’t in your budget, you could always buy a Lambrecht yardstick. Asking price: $50. Here are scenes from the auction.
