Stay in Tel Aviv at a five-star hotel with this package from El Al Airlines that comes with savings too. It includes round-trip airfare plus three days at a Mediterranean beachfront Hilton or Carlton in the Israeli city starting at $1,749 per person.

The deal: The El Al offer is based on double occupancy and comes with a choice of a Vista Club Room at the Hilton Tel Aviv or a Royal Executive Room at the Carlton Tel Aviv. Daily breakfast and other extras come with the L.A. package that costs $1,749 for economy seats and $4,349 for business class. Solo economy class travelers pay $2,149 for this deal.

When: Stays are good at the Hilton through March 11 and at the Carlton through Feb. 24, based on availability.

Tested: Southern California travelers who stay longer than three days choose which hotel nights to stay. I tested this deal by calling a reservation agent and found availability for flights that leave L.A. on March 3 and return March 10. (Note that El Al flies out of Los Angeles on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and the airline doesn't fly Fridays and Saturdays for religious reasons.)

Rooms without the package during the week I chose would start at $530 a night at the Hilton and $431 a night at the Carlton — amounts almost equal to the cost of the entire trip. There are cheaper ways to get to Tel Aviv, but for those who want the luxe digs, this deal presents decent savings.
