JetBlue, Frontier cut summer airfares to Las Vegas, Denver, more [Updated]

Summer airfare sales at JetBlue Airways and Frontier Airlines could help if you’re a little behind on summer vacation planning. JetBlue has lowered the price on Las Vegas to $29 each way from Long Beach. And Frontier offers $84 fares each way from Los Angeles to Denver. Act quickly if you want a seat because these sales end Thursday night -- that’s tonight.

Each-way fares from L.A. include $44 to San Francisco, $64 to Seattle, $94 to Dallas-Fort Worth and $144 to New York, Boston, Orlando and Washington, D.C. Travel is good from Aug. 23 to Oct. 5.]

Deal 1: JetBlue’s Keep-On-Summering Sale offers low fares on each-way travel, mostly from Long Beach. Some examples: Las Vegas for $29; Sacramento, San Francisco and Oakland for $49; Portland, Ore., for $99; and Anchorage for $129. The $29 each-way fare to Las Vegas works from Burbank too. (Prices exclude tax.) The deals applies to flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

When: The offer is good for travel from Wednesday to Oct. 5, with some blackout dates, but tickets must be purchased by 8:59 PDT Thursday (July 7).

Tested: In a quick check of some deal prices, I found cheap tickets sometimes available on days other than Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For example, I found availability for a $99 flight from Los Angeles to Portland on July 26 (Tuesday) with a return $99 flight on July 30 (Saturday); prices don’t include tax.

Deal2: Frontier’s Happy Birthday to Us! sale offers each-way fares from L.A. to Denver for $84; to Kansas City, Mo., for $89; and to Omaha, Neb., for $114. Sale airfares are available Mondays through Saturdays.

Tested: I found availability on a number of $84 flights from L.A. to Denver on Aug. 19 and returning Aug. 23.
