Share

Blues lovers can sail to the Caribbean listening to music by Gregg Allman, Joe Bonamassa, vocalist Beth Hart, Mr. Sipp and other musicians during the Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea III cruise.

The third annual blues cruise aboard the Norwegian Jade is scheduled to begin in Tampa, Fla., and sail to Costa Maya, Mexico, a port about 100 miles south of Playa del Carmen.

Live music will be played on six stages on the ship; Bonamassa will perform three times during the cruise.

Passengers will hear veteran and emerging artists -- there’s a stage dedicated to new talent called Ignite artists -- and meet them in small gatherings too.

The cruise fest also raises money for music programs and students nationwide, a Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation statement says.

Date: Feb. 6-10 (cabins go on sale June 23).

Price: Starting at $999 per person, based on double occupancy, plus $275 for taxes and fees. It includes the cruise as well as performances and activities with musicians. Airfare to and from Florida is extra.
