Las Vegas: 7 Christmas dinner treats, sweet to savory, to celebrate

The Christmas feast doesn’t have to include ham and candied yams - at least not on the Las Vegas Strip, where nearly every restaurant will be open Dec. 25.

Many will be dishing up special palate pleasers on Christmas. Here’s a sampling of seven that await diners.

Eggs Benedict will be among the multitude of dishes for Christmas brunch at the Buffet at Wynn. Six varieties of the dish will be offered.

Artichoke and black truffle soup, served with toasted mushroom brioche and black truffle butter, will be just one of nine courses at Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace. The Christmas Prestige dinner costs $375 per person.

Gebackener Tortenbrie will be one of the German dishes featured at Hofbrauhaus. Breaded, fried Brie will be served with a winter salad bouquet garnished with fried parsley and cranberries.

A caviar parfait promises to tempt at Michael Mina at Bellagio. The Christmas Menu costs $115, and the parfait is an extra $28 or $75, depending on whether you order domestic or Russian caviar.

Roasted chestnut soup provides a twist on the traditional holiday nosh, and it’s available at the Pub at Monte Carlo. It’s made with apples and pancetta.

A chocolate candy cane parfait is certain to satisfy a sweet tooth. It will be served at the Roasted Bean, a casual dining spot inside the Mirage.

Muscovy duck breast, prepared with sweet potato gnocchi and shaved Brussels sprouts, will be among the menu items at Rx Boiler Room at Mandalay Bay. Diners will be entered for a chance to win a cooking class for two and dinner with Chef Rick Moonen.
