California: Liftopia offers lift ticket deals for Super Bowl Sunday

Share

No one skis or snowboards during the Super Bowl, right?

Well, that’s not exactly true. But lift-ticket sales do drop significantly because many skiers and snowboarders are also football fans. (Or maybe they just watch in order to see the quirky commercials?)

Whatever the case, with many people turning into couch potatoes to watch the big game on Sunday, Liftopia, an online seller of lift tickets, is offering deals with significant savings off the regular price at ski and snowboard areas across the country.

“Super Bowl Sunday is one of the best days of the season to ski or ride because everyone stays in to watch the big game,” Ron Schneidermann, co-founder of Liftopia, said in a news release.

“That means you’ll enjoy no lift lines, no crowds and lots of untracked snow,” he said.

Better yet, kickoff isn’t until 3:30 p.m. PST, so you could get in nearly a full day of skiing or riding and still catch most of the Super Bowl.

Here are some of Liftopia’s game-day ticket deals in California:

Mountain High, $49 (29% off); Mount Baldy, $35 (35% off); Alpine, $98 for two lift tickets (50% off); Diamond Peak, $47 (20% off); Mt. Rose, $49 (38% off); Sierra-at-Tahoe, $47 (39% off); and Boreal, $61 for a single-day lift ticket that also includes tubing, (21% off).
