If you're still wondering where in the world to go in 2013, here's a freebie that might help. Travel guide company Lonely Planet is giving away its "Best in Travel 2013" e-book for the month of March. The guide contains a roundup of 10 countries, regions and cities that are must-sees this year.

[For the record, 12 p.m. March 5: To get it free, the e-book must be downloaded from the Thanks a Million Web page. If you download it from iTunes you will be charged.]

The deal: Lonely Planet has much to celebrate lately. It turns 40 this year, four decades since Tony and Maureen Wheeler started the company on a shoestring. But the latest "thanks a million" e-book giveaway is tied to the social media milestones: a million fans who like them on Facebook and a million fans follow them on Twitter.

The e-book can be downloaded for free as a PDF or as an iBook for iPad or iPhone.

When: The offer is good through March 31.

Details: A printed version of the guide costs $14.99 (although it's currently out of stock in the Lonely Planet shop).
