Peru: Photography tour focuses on cuisine and culture

Photographer Joanne Heaviland is leading a nine-day excursion to Peru that highlights the country’s culture and cuisine as well as provides opportunities to hone photography skills.

The nine-day tour starts with a visit to the historical centers of Lima and a full-day excursion through the landscape of the Urubamba Valley. Other highlights include a visit to a traditional Lima market to learn about Peruvian fruits and vegetables, an overnight visit to Machu Picchu and its ruins, and a city tour of Cuzco and the archaeological complexes of Qenko and Puka Pukara. Along the way participants will learn photo techniques as well as lighting, composition, landscape and portrait photography. Group size is limited to 14.

Dates: June 12-20

Price: $3,695 per person, double occupancy. $650 single supplement. Includes lodging, private transportation, daily breakfast, four lunches and two dinners, domestic airfare, round-trip train to Machu Picchu, all taxes and tips. International airfare is not included.
