Cabo San Lucas: Chef Gary Danko will get cooking at resort

Celebrity chef Gary Danko will join chef Gonzalo Cerda at the Esperanza resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in late October to create special dinners and meet guests.

The four-night Ultimate Culinary Escape includes a dinner created by the two chefs (think glazed oysters, seared yellowfin tuna and lobster and shrimp risotto) as well as a Champagne reception with the duo prior to the meal.

Dates: Oct. 20-25; dinners with Danko are available Oct. 21-23.

Price: $1,910 a person, excluding tax and fees. The price includes four nights at Esperanza, one dinner and reception with Danko and Cerda at El Restaurante, a meal at La Palapa Bar & Grill, airport transfers, daily breakfast and a $50 spa certificate. Airfare is not included.

Note: The U.S. State Department’s most recent warning to Americans traveling in Mexico was issued in April. The agency cites specific areas of Mexico, particularly border areas, that are prone to drug-cartel violence. Cabo San Lucas, however, is not among the dangerous areas in the warning.
