Yosemite National Park: Shuttle from south entrance to Badger Pass Ski Area begins Saturday

Want to get in on the big snow at Yosemite National Park without the hassle of driving? Skiers and snowboarders can hop a once-a-day shuttle that starts Saturday from the park’s south entrance to Badger Pass Ski Area.

The shuttle, which runs Saturdays, Sundays and holidays at 7 a.m. from Miller’s Mountain Sports at 40343 Highway 41 in Oakhurst, Calif, provides an easy way for visitors staying at hotels outside the park to get to the ski area.

The shuttle stops at Tenaya Lodge at 8 a.m. and arrives at the ski area at 9 a.m. The return shuttle leaves Badger Pass at 3:45 p.m. (the ski area closes at 4:30) and arrives back in Oakhurst at 5:30 p.m.The cost is $10 per person, which includes the entrance fee to the national park.

Free shuttles to the ski area also run from Yosemite Valley.They start at 8:05 a.m., with stops at Curry Village, Yosemite Village, the Ahwahnee and Yosemite Lodge.The last shuttle for the valley leaves the ski area at 4:30 p.m. Click here for a schedule of both shuttle services.

Badger Pass tip: The ski area offers “Guaranteed Learn to Ski or Snowboard Lessons” at 10 a.m. daily. The package includes equipment rental, a beginner lift ticket and two group lessons. Children must be at least 7 to participate. The ski package costs $74 for adults and $59 for children 7 to 12; snowboard packages cost $84 for adults and $69 for children (prices don’t include tax).
