Your Scene: A hopeful lovebird’s nest in Kenya

The straw-colored balls dangling from this acacia tree look like tumbleweed, but they’re actually bird nests, built by the aptly named weaver bird.

Jack Seifert encountered the nests at the Samburu National Reserve in Kenya during a safari in early September.

The Sherman Oaks resident explained that the male weaver builds these nests in hopes of luring a mate.
