Mammoth Mountain: Let the snow business begin
Mammoth Mountain opened last week with as much as a foot of snow on the first day. That was good news for the resort, which was starved for natural snow last season. All was forgotten Friday and Saturday as skiers and boarders took to the slopes for the start of the 2012-2013 season. And more good news: Forecasters are predicting a mild to moderate El Nino for the season, which could mean colder temps and more moisture for the Sierra.
