Hawaii: Celebrating the elegance of Shaheen's aloha wear
On Saturday, the Bishop Museum in Honolulu is set to open an exhibit of the works of Alfred Shaheen, a clothing designer and manufacturer in Hawaii who took aloha wear from a punch line to the height of elegance in the '50s, '60s and '70s. Today, his creations are still much sought-after, and his name remains a legend not just in Hawaii but all over the world. You can read more about the exhibit in a Travel story on Shaheen's influence.
