A look at Celebrity’s new Suite Class dining coming in April

Share

If you value private dining wherever you go, why not on your next cruise? Celebrity Cruises plans to roll out a restaurant called Luminae as part of its new Suite Class concept.

Luminae, meant to evoke light and luxury, will open fleet-wide in April. The restaurant open to all passengers in suites will feature dishes made from scratch, including some prepared table-side, a Celebrity statement says.

Guests also will be able to pair dishes with some of the ship’s 400-plus wines from a list exclusively selected for Luminae. Each menu item will repeat just once during a two-week cruise too.

“The menus will be exquisite, and guests can choose from dishes such as caviar and creme fraiche, a creamy black truffle risotto with fricassee of wild mushrooms, and Parmigiano-Reggiano and a cote de beouf with roasted root vegetables and Bearnaise sauce,” cruise line executive chef John Suley says in the statement.

Early renderings of the restaurant show twinkling lights above intimate groupings of tables. The color scheme is muted, mostly soft silvers and gold.

The restaurant is one of the perks that come with the cruise line’s new Suite Class concept, which was announced last year and will launch during April.

Guests who book Celebrity suites can expect to have access to Luminae and receive priority check-in, butler service 24/7 and afternoon tea.

Those in selected suite categories also will have access to a private VIP lounge called Michael’s Club and perks like unlimited Internet access and premium drinks.
