The Forks, Winnipeg( Travel Manitoba )
The Forks, named because it's where the Assiniboine River merges into the Red, has been a meeting place for people for at least 6,000 years. Archaeological findings suggest prehistoric humans set up campsites here; fur traders passed through in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, the Forks is one of Winnipeg's most popular attractions, offering shops, restaurants and events year round.
