Las Vegas’ splashy pool season is open. Here are five places to party
Though Mother Nature hasn’t received the memo, it’s pool season in Las Vegas. Three new pools, surfing and action-packed movies are among the options for water-loving partyers.
If you plan to be among the early visitors, know that daytime highs this weekend are forecast to range from the mid-60s to the low 70s.
The latest additions to Vegas’ pool scene are at the Monte Carlo, which will be rebranded as Park MGM in April.
The south pool opened last weekend, with the east and north pools slated to open next Monday.
Following in the footsteps of the hotel’s redesign, the pools will reflect the sophisticated style of the south of France. While each pool will have its own feel, there are common threads.
Created by London’s Martin Brudnizki Design Studio, the spaces are intended to evoke the feel found within the private gardens of a European country estate.
The options for sunning seem endless, with chaise lounges, daybeds with retractable shades, and shelf seating at each pool that allows guests to catch the rays while immersed in the water.
Cabanas will feature 55-inch TVs as well as misting systems that will be welcome when summer’s scorching temperatures arrive.

Up the street at The Cosmopolitan, tanning comes with the opportunity for some terrific people-watching since the resort’s Boulevard Pool overlooks the Strip. Now open, the pool offers an always-active social scene.
From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Monday nights will feature Dive In Movies screened on the hotel’s 65-foot digital marquee.
Among the offerings are “Wonder Woman” (May 28), a “Star Wars” double feature on July 9, and “Transformers” on Sept.3.
For noshing, the Overlook Grill features tempting nibbles such as Spicy Blue Crab Lettuce Wraps ($14) and California Benedict ($18).

Just across the Strip, surfing fun can be found at The FlowRider at Planet Hollywood. Using what’s called “wave-form technology,” the stand-alone attraction allows people to test their board skills in a safe environment; the surface of the ride is designed to absorb energy on impact.
The surfing pool is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting. Guests must be 42 inches or taller to boogie board or 54 inches or taller to surf.
The attraction costs $25 for a half-hour session, and you don’t have to be registered guests. The public can swim for free in the hotel’s pools on two decks.

With spring break just around the corner, the Hard Rock Hotel is gearing up to welcome the 21-and-over college crowd starting Saturday.
Billed as Las Vegas’ original day club, Rehab Beach Club is celebrating its 15th anniversary. The club will host action-packed pool parties Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Easter.
The live, weekend performances will include sets by DJ Ease, who last month was named international turntablist of the year at the 2018 Global Spin Awards.
Rehab Beach Club is located a couple of miles east of the Strip along Harmon Avenue. It is open daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and admission prices vary by event.

Some of the hottest DJs and bands draw the masses to Encore Beach Club at Wynn Las Vegas. The venue’s pool opened last Friday, and the nighttime scene launches this Friday .
The spring lineup includes The Chainsmokers on April 29 and May 6.
