200 photos for 200 years of Mexico
As Mexico marks its bicentennial, staff writer Christopher Reynolds has pulled out 200 photos from about two-dozen trips over the last 20 years.
Look closely among the faces and landscapes and you'll spot a perfect cross cut in a cactus, a donkey in disguise, a fake Muslim minaret, an artwork made of seeds, three really loud bedspreads, a coyote on an island, a coatimundi on a mountain and a freelance fire breather on the streets of Tijuana.

I find it sad. How come at this point in time the LA Times can still hold such a superficial and touristy view?

I thought that this was a splendid view of the colorful and positive that Mexico has to offer..I remember that aspect well, though more than 40 years since i was last there..
