From LAX, nonstop service to Calgary International Airport is offered on Air Canada, and connecting service (change of planes) is offered on Central Mountain Air. A Canadian Mountain Holidays shuttle returns you to Calgary International at the end of your trip.


The via ferrata is offered to those who sign up for a heli-hiking package at Canadian Mountain Holidays' Bobbie Burns Lodge, provided they are judged fit enough; (800) 661-0252, www.canadianmountain The season runs from early July to early September. The price for a three-night package with 2 1/2 days of guided heli-hiking and all meals is $2,342 for adults, $2,059 for youths ages 15 to 17, and $1,758 for children ages 5 to 14.
