The annual “Lucky Shops” event, billed by Lucky Magazine as the “ultimate shopping experience,” returns to New York Oct. 26-27.

The fourth annual event benefits Baby Buggy, the nonprofit organization that helps families in need with baby clothes and gear.

More than 5,000 people from 40 states attended last year.

Lucky Shops features top designer fashions, handbags, shoes, jewelry and other items sold at up to 70 percent off original prices, all on display in a fun lounge-like environment.

Merchandise from Stella McCartney, See by Chloe, Theory, Rebecca Taylor, Twinkle, Jill Stuart, Nicholas K and Tevrow + Chase will be among the goods for sale.

Admission to the Friday (Oct. 26) “First Dibs” showcase, noon-7 p.m., is $75 in advance, $85 at the door. The Saturday (Oct. 27) “Shop-A-Thon,” 10 a.m.-7 p.m., is $40 in advance, $45 at the door.

The event takes place at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 W. 18 St., between Sixth and Seventh avenues in Manhattan. Tickets available at luckyshops.com or 866-458-2598.

The event makes a perfect cornerstone for a weekend girls’ getaway to the Big Apple. Before and after shopping, you can check out Broadway and the museums. New shows this fall - some of which will have opened, others of which will be in previews by Oct. 26 - include ``Pygmalion,’’ ``A Bronx Tale,’’ ``Young Frankenstein,’’ ``Cyrano de Bergerac,’’ ``and ``Rock’n’Roll.’’

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art, you’ll find ``The Age of Rembrandt,’’ while the Butterfly Conservatory reopens at the American Museum of Natural History on Oct. 6. Don’t forget to enjoy New York’s typically cool but pleasant fall weather with a stroll in Central Park.
