Where am I?: Metallic beast

About 3.7 million years ago, when this desert floor was swampy, real beasts like this now-extinct big fella roamed this territory. The facsmile here is an artist’s work, one of three metal critters in an otherwise empty meadow, which prompts many a double-take among drivers on the road nearby. The man behind the project is a philanthropist with pliocene proclivities, and he’s expected to soon supply sloths as well. (Although, given the name of this place, you might expect sheep or donkeys.)
