Get ready to dress up like St. Nick and make a run for it when the Las Vegas Great Santa Run returns Dec. 5 for its 11th year.

The event, which drew more than 8,000 runners last year, is one of the world’s largest gatherings of Santa-clad runners.

Discounts are being offered this year for early-bird registration for the run, which benefits Opportunity Village, the nonprofit that helps those with intellectual disabilities.

Now through Aug. 29, runners can nab discounts for the 5K run or one-mile walk through downtown Las Vegas, priced at $30 for individuals and $20 for children under 12.

Runners land a five-piece Santa suit, a runner goody bag and a commemorative medal from event sponsors. Bring a canine companion for $10 and receive a doggie bag full of treats.

Shape Magazine named the Great Santa Run one of the Top 10 Costume Runs in the World last year.

The Great Santa Run was the reigning champion of the “World Santa Alliance” for nine years until Liverpool took the title with 8,500 Santas running in December 2014.
