Jim Belushi & the Sacred Hearts return to the Orleans Showroom

Share

Comedian Jim Belushi follows in the footsteps of his brother John with a blues band, the Sacred Hearts, bringing two nights of soulful tunes, laughs and at least one back flip to the Orleans Showroom on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Belushi, a regular on “Saturday Night Live” and star of the sitcom “According to Jim,” jumped into the music scene in 1995 when he teamed up with House of Blues regulars the Sacred Hearts.

When friend Dan Aykroyd asked the performer to join him in the Blues Brothers, Belushi crashed rehearsals of the Sacred Hearts to get into his role. The natural progression of this friendship turned the collaboration into Jim Belushi & the Sacred Hearts.

The band’s first CD, “36 x 22 x 36,” came out in 1998 with “a blend of Memphis rhythm & blues seasoned with a lot of soul.”

The “According to Jim Soundtrack” debuted in 2005 with music from the group. Belushi and bandmates Johnny Rubano and Tony Braunagel, who also made regular guest appearances on “According to Jim,” wrote and recorded much of the show’s music.

Tickets start at $39.95.
