Downtown Las Vegas is becoming the place to go to see heavy metal rockers. Slaughter, Vixen and Steelheart take over the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center on Oct. 2.

Las Vegas locals Slaughter dropped their first album, “Stick It to Ya,” in 1990 with hit singles including “Up All Night,” “Spend My Life,” “Mad About You” and “Fly to the Angels.” That album went double platinum.

The group’s second album, “The Wild Life,” featured ”Real Love” and was certified gold.

Vixen, an all-female St. Paul, Minn.-based group, has sold more than 1 million albums and made six No. 1 music videos on MTV. Their first hit, “Edge of a Broken Heart,” was co-written by singer Richard Marx.

Steelheart started off as a metal band in the early ’90s, with lead singer Miljenko Matijevic also providing vocals for Mark Wahlberg’s character in the film “Rock Star.” Now the band has a more modern sound. Steelheart is probably best known for the single, “I’ll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes).”

Tickets start at $25 and go on sale on Friday, Aug. 14.
