Styx returns to the Pearl at the Palms in early 2016
Get ready to sing along to all the big hits from Styx when the band returns to the Pearl at the Palms on Jan. 16.
Believe it or not, Tommy Shaw, James “JY” Young, Lawrence Gowan, Todd Sucherman and Ricky Phillips, along with original bassist Chuck Panozzo, have played more live dates since 1999 than all of their previous years on the road combined. The band formed in Chicago in 1970.
The group’s 45-year career has seen hits such as “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” “Babe,” “The Best of Times,” “Too Much Time on My Hands” and “Mr. Roboto,” giving them five consecutive albums certified multiplatinum and 16 top 40 singles in the United States alone.
In 2012, the band released “Styx: The Grand Illusion/Pieces Of Eight Live,” showcasing a performance on Nov. 9, 2010, at the historic Orpheum Theater in Memphis. That tour featured Styx performing both albums in their entirety for the first time. The band rolls through 20 songs in this two-hour and 11-minute performance.
Their 2012 album “Regeneration, Volume I & II” included 13 Styx classics along with a brand new song, “Difference In The World.”
Tickets start at $43 and go on sale Friday.
Tickets: Pearl Box Office, (702) 944-3200
