Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada

Charlevoix, Quebec, Canada The Charlevoix region of Quebec province, east of Quebec City, is beautiful, rural French countryside along the St. Lawrence River. There is great scenery, excellent hiking, fabulous food, agri-tourism (such as emu and duck farms) an art colony, music conservatory and Parc national des Hautes-Gorges. In La Malbaie, the Musée de Charlevoix is nice. There's also a large, historic Fairmont Hotel. The area is not crowded with tourists. Although not much English is spoken in the area, we didn't find that to be a hindrance. Info: -- Deborah Heyman, Irvine
