This long, lean space opened in May -- yet another restaurant in the booming Mission District -- and is going gangbusters. St. Vincent is the patron saint of wine and vinegar makers, and the wine list is a key attraction here. Menu is California-centric with global influences (entrees $24-$30). Besides reservations (which fill fast), there are 25 first-come, first-served seats at the stainless steel bar, chef's counter and communal table. Owner is sommelier and author David Lynch, not to be confused with that other David Lynch. 1270 Valencia St.; (415) 285-1200, http://www.stvincentsf.com.
