A boccie player grips the ball for a throw at Seghesio Family Vineyards in Healdsburg, Calif., a Sonoma wine-country town where boccie playing and wine-tasting go together. In fact, Healdsburg boasts three wine-growing valleys (the Alexander, Dry Creek and Russian River) and five boccie courts, all within a 10-mile radius of the town center.
