Blaze Pizza chain opens La Cañada location

Pizza in a flash made a splash in La Cañada Flintridge on Tuesday at the grand opening of Blaze Pizza in La Cañada Town Center.

Blaze Pizza utilizes an oven that burns as hot as 800 degrees and an assembly line of 39 ingredients — three sauces, eight cheeses, eight meats and 20 veggies — to prepare made-to-order 11-inch pizzas in about two minutes.

“It’s whatever your taste buds are asking for, and by the time you pay your pizza is waiting for you,” said Sheela Patel, a La Crescenta native and one of four partners operating the Town Center franchise.

The Blaze Pizza in La Cañada is the fifth to open in Southern California, Patel said.

The brainchild of Wetzel’s Pretzels founders Rick and Elise Wetzel, Blaze Pizza debuted last year with locations in Pasadena and Irvine.

At the Town Center franchise, a combination pizza runs $7.45, one-topping pies are $5.85 and a basic cheese goes for $5, Patel said.
