Crime: Window broken at La Cañada United Methodist Church

Dec. 20-21

Attempted burglary: 1600 block of Earlmont Avenue, before 9 a.m. on Dec. 21. Small holes found in kitchen window on residential property.

Dec. 24

Theft: 4000 block of Oak Grove Drive, between 10 and 10:15 a.m. A high school student parked his car at the school’s parking lot, leaving the sunroof open. His wallet and iPhone were stolen from the vehicle. Unauthorized purchases were made with credit and debit cards that were in the wallet.

Vandalism: 100 block of Berkshire Place, before 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. Six panes of a large window were broken at La Cañada United Methodist Church.

Dec. 28

Petty theft: 4400 block of Chevy Chase Drive, between 2 and 5 p.m. U.S. mail, several cards and letters outgoing from a residence were reported taken out and ripped open, but recovered in mailbox.

Dec. 29

Petty theft: 4400 block of Oak Grove Drive, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. An iPhone 5S wallet and money were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Jan. 1

Public intoxication: Oakwood Avenue at Foothill Boulevard, 12:45 a.m. Two men were arrested on suspicion of public intoxication.

Jan. 2

Grand theft: Flanders Road, between midnight and 7 a.m. A laptop computer was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The glove compartment was found open and miscellaneous papers had been scattered throughout the car.

Jan. 3

Petty Theft: Grand Avenue, 2:30 a.m. A 46-inch L.E.D. TV, a refrigerator part and a TV part were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Burglary: 2200 block of Foothill Boulevard, 11:45 a.m. A Realtor spotted evidence of an unauthorized visitor at a house, including trash, clothing and human feces. Two suspects were detained on site pending a trespassing/burglary investigation. A power strip was plugged into a wall of the shed behind the house, indicating theft of electricity.

Assault with a deadly weapon: Highrim Road, 2:05 p.m. A suspect became angered after not receiving pay for a previous job at the property, and grabbed a wooden dowel from the bed of his truck, approaching the La Cañada resident and allegedly striking him with the tool.

Identity theft: Rupert Lane. A resident noticed an account on his credit report that was created on May 30, 2012, which he had not opened. The account had an overdue balance.

Dec. 24

Petty theft: 4600 block of Dyer Street, 2:47 a.m. An undisclosed amount of U.S. coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The owner of the vehicle approached a female suspect during the time of the incident. She allegedly dropped all of the coins into the street, which were returned to the owner. She also left behind a flashlight, watch, California driver’s license, burglary tool and a gaming card.

Dec. 23-27

Burglary: 3000 block of Orange Avenue, before 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 27. Twelve serving pieces, 60 place settings, a gold necklace, a gold pendant, numerous credit cards and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from a home.

Dec. 25-26

Commercial burglary: 2900 block of Foothill Boulevard, before 2 a.m. on Dec. 26. Several items were stolen from the Goodwill store, including a desktop computer, router, computer DVR and a stereo. A window on the store was smashed.

Dec. 29

Burglary: 300 block of Orange Avenue. Between 11 a.m. Monday and 3:45 p.m Friday, Dec. 23-27. Serving pieces, place settings, U.S. currency, an 18-karat gold necklace, an 18-karat gold cross pendant and numerous credit cards were stolen from residence.

Vandalism: 4000 block of Ocean View Boulevard, between 6 and 9:45 p.m. A wall was marked with graffiti.
