La Cañada Flintridge invites residents to apply to commission seats

The city of La Cañada Flintridge is inviting interested residents to apply for several City Commission and Committee seats becoming available effective June 1. The deadline for submission is Monday at 5 p.m.

Currently, three seats apiece will be vacant on the following panels: The Planning Commission; Design Commission; Investment & Financing Advisory Committee; Parks & Recreation Commission; Public Safety Commission; and Public Works & Traffic Commission.

The city is also seeking applicants for four seats on its Youth Council, open to residents aged 14 to 19 at time of service.

For all but the Youth Council, appointments will last four years, expiring May 31, 2018. Members may serve no more than two consecutive four-year terms. Youth Council seats last two years, expiring May 31, 2016.

All applicants must be residents of La Cañada Flintridge, unless seeking the single business owner/manager seat available on the Design Commission. Applications are available at City Hall, 1327 Foothill Blvd., or downloadable at www.lacanadaflintridge.ca.gov.

All applications must be received by the City Clerk by 5 p.m. on March 17. The City Council will conduct interviews in April and May.
