Update: Cars swerve off Angeles Crest Highway Friday night, Saturday morning

Following a report of a car careening off the side of the Angeles Crest Highway on Friday night, a second car was reported to have swerved about 30 feet over the side of the connector from the 210 east to the Angeles Crest Highway this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

[UPDATE 11:20 a.m.] The California Highway Patrol received a call shortly after 11 a.m. about a sports car that went over the side of the connector. The parties were out of the vehicle.

On Friday night, a driver and two passengers were transported to hospitals for minor injuries after their car swerved about 150 feet off the Angeles Crest Highway at 9 p.m. on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A call came in from onlookers at 9 p.m. reporting that a car -- a white BMW428i -- had swerved off the road at the 29.5-mile mark off the Highway about 5.5 miles above La Cañada, according to California Highway Patrol officer Monica Posada.

The driver, a 21-year-old male from Riverside, and two female passengers, aged 21 and 22, were transported for complaints of pain, Posada said.

Onlookers told authorities the car swerved off the road to avoid a deer, but Posada said those reports are unconfirmed.
