Share

Michael P. Sullivan, vice president and chief philanthropy officer for Orthopaedic Institute for Children, will be the keynote speaker when the La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild holds its annual Book and Author Luncheon Oct. 28 at Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland.

A Boston native, Sullivan previously raised funds for Harvard Medical School. Throughout his career he has raised more than $100 million for philanthropies. His presentation during the luncheon will include a seven-minute video to provide a look at the work being done at the Los Angeles institute, which was formerly known as Orthopaedic Hospital. The facility provides care for pediatric orthopedic disorders including cerebral palsy, musculoskeletal tumors, pediatric arthritis, scoliosis and other issues.

All profits from the annual Book and Author Luncheon go directly to the Charitable Children’s Guild where it is then directed to the Orthopaedic Institute. The local group has pledged $100,000 over the next nine years to benefit the OIC Ambulatory Surgery Center. Those interested in attending the October event are asked to contact Joan Cleven (818) 249-4603 and request an invitation. Space is limited. Those who wish to send a donation to help build the OIC Ambulatory Surgery Center, are invited to mail donations to La Cañada Flintridge Orthopaedic Guild P.O. Box 777, La Cañada Flintridge, 90212-0777.
