Sports Roundup: Armand Bagramyan, Spartans storm past Lions

BOYS’ SOCCER

La Cañada 6, El Monte 0: Armand Bagramyan finished with four goals and two assists for the Spartans in La Cañada High Tournament action Thursday. Aidan Tourani and Andrew Meeker scored one goal each for La Cañada (8-0-2). Bagramyan has recorded 21 goals and nine assists on the season.

Bagramyan had four goals and two assists Wednesday in a 6-1 tournament win over La Salle. Kaesler and Meeker scored one goal apiece for the Spartans.

Hacienda Heights Wilson 3, Flintridge Prep 2: The Rebels suffered a defeat Thursday in the Ontario Christian Tournament after earlier notching a 4-0 victory against Crean Lutheran.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep in Santa Barbara Tournament: The Rebels tournament title chances were dashed in a loss to host Santa Barbara in the championship round Saturday, 60-47. Robert Cartwright led Prep with 17 points, while Chadd Cosse and Kareem Ismail added 12 and eight points, respectively, for the Rebels (7-4).

Flintridge Prep advanced to the championship with victories over Troy (77-65), Buckley (63-58) and St. Bonaventure (67-58) in earlier tournament action.

Cartwright and Jedrick Eugenio scored 20 points each in the semifinals Friday against Troy. Cartwright also added eight assists and teammates Tyler Weakland and Cosse contributed 16 and 14 points, respectively.

Cartwright put together another impressive performance with 17 points, seven assists and six steals against Buckley Thursday. Ismail finished with 16 points for Prep, which got 10 points apiece from Cosse and Eugenio.

The Rebels got a double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) from Cartwright against St. Bonaventure Wednesday. Eugenio and Ismail produced 14 and 10 points, respectively.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 4, Palm Springs 0: The Rebels posted a victory in the Ontario Christian Tournament on Thursday. Earlier, Flintridge Prep picked up a 4-0 win against Colony.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Golden Valley 52, La Cañada 39: Courtney Chen finished with a team-high 17 points Friday for the Spartans (6-7) in a pool-play game of the La Cañada Holiday Tournament.
