Two suspects arrested last week were found with $7,000 worth of property, including jewelry, laptop computers and an iPad, that had been stolen from a La Cañada Flintridge home, authorities said.

Dominique Mims, a 25-year-old Inglewood resident, was arrested, along with a minor, by Los Angeles police officers on Aug. 12, said Sgt. Robert Galbraith of the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station.

A burglary in the 4700 block of Hayman Avenue was reported to the station that same day. A La Cañada family who lives at the property was gone most of the day, according to a sheriff’s report, and found the home ransacked when they returned after 8 p.m.

Police pulled over the suspects on a traffic stop in Los Angeles and arrested the pair after officers found that they possessed the stolen property, according to authorities. They were taken to the police station on 7600 S. Broadway in Los Angeles, where Mims was later released on a bond.

The stolen property was returned to the family, said Galbraith.
