USC Verdugo Hills Hospital offers CPR training

USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, an American Heart Assn. training center, is offering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training classes to community members and healthcare providers.

“The primary lesson is for people to know what to do when the worst possible health emergency occurs, which is when someone is not breathing,” stated Teri Rice, family education program coordinator at USC-VHH. “Brain cells will die in four to six minutes, so it is important to start CPR as early as possible.”

CPR classes are offered at USC-VHH, 1812 Verdugo Blvd., in the council room (located on the fourth floor lobby). The fee for the Heartsaver certification class (adult/child/infant) is $60 per person (includes textbook); and the fee for the infant CPR noncertification class is $35 per person.
