'The Twilight Zone'

Rod Serling introduced America to sci-fi mind trips before they knew what it meant. The anthology series spawned scenes that still stick with us. Afraid to sit on the wing on a plane when flying? Thank the "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" for that; Will Shatner sees a gremlin tearing away at the plane's wing, but no one else believes him. And paranoid alien beings will invade Earth to eat us? No it's not the ABC series "V" that posed this originally. Thank "To Serve Man." Just thinking about the old black and white episodes still gives us the heebeejibees. -- Darcel Rockett, Zap2it CBS
