"Historic Jamestowne is an island full of old history, and it has a new, one-of-a-kind Archaearium that is owned by the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities. Also on the island, the part that's owned by the Colonial National Historical Park, has a new visitor center and a new theater where a wonderful film is shown. The APVA is in need of new members. After all the discussion last spring about the new road put around the Settlement to the parking lot, signs telling how to get to Jamestown Island were to be installed as well but they only make it more difficult. In addition, a combination ticket to Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Victory Center and Historic Jamestowne Island was offered. But now there's now no signage to the island and the guard house has been taken down. There's no signs whatsoever until you get to the new visitor center. As for the combo ticket, it was only good during Anniversary Weekend, May 11-13. We thought the ticket offering would be permanent."
