We address this issue at the start of NewsPlus, as we talk directly with Cathy Lanier, Chief of the Metropolitan Police Department on how her force is working to keep our streets safe. Chief Lanier also tells us how the MPD is handling 'occupy D.C.' protestors, and the traffic disruptions they have sometimes caused.
