Psi Epsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. announces

2nd International Women’s Day event to honor women who have serviced underprivileged people of third world countries

laurel, maryland:  Psi Epsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first African-American Greek-letter women's organization, is holding its 2nd International Women's Day event “Honoring Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Work Around the World" on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Camelot by Martin's located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.  Radio personality Michel Wright will be the Mistress of Ceremonies. For five years now, she has been part of the nationally syndicated "Live in the Den with Big Tigger" radio show on which she does three different features including "The Wright Track" and the advice feature called "What's Good."

 

This event will honor five women who have demonstrated extraordinary service to underprivileged people of third world countries.  The honorees are:

1.  Lisa Armstrong – Journalist, Pulitzer Prize Winner

2.  Nadu A. Tuakli, M.D., M.P.H., FAAFP - Laurel, Maryland

3.  Co-Pastor Reverend Dr. Joanne Browning - Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church Fort Washington, Maryland
4.  Robin Tunstall - Life Changers Academy Lanham, Maryland

5.  Zena Bone - Founder, Pomeroon Education Project (PEP)
