The following New Orleans area schools and offices will be closed on Friday, February 4, 2001 due to weather:
Delgado Community College: Due to continuing severe winter weather conditions primarily affecting St. Tammany Parish Delgado Northshore locations in Covington and Slidell only will remain closed Friday, February 4, anticipated to re-open for business as usual on Monday, February 7. All other Delgado locations will be open.
LSU Baton Rouge: LSU will be closed through Friday evening. All classes and events scheduled after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 3, and classes and events all day and evening on Friday, Feb. 4, have been canceled. (LSU HSC in New Orleans will remain open as normal.)
Southeastern Louisiana University: Due to concerns about potential travel hazards, Southeastern's main campus and off-campus sites will remain closed Friday. Previously scheduled events and activities in the evening and on Saturday will proceed as planned.
Tangipahoa Parish Schools: Due to concerns about potential travel hazards, all Tangipahoa Parish district offices and public schools will be closed on Friday, February 4. Previously scheduled events in the evening and on Saturday – including area high school basketball games – will proceed as scheduled. All district offices and parish schools will be resume normal operations on Monday, February 7. Students and employees should report back at their regularly scheduled time on Monday.
Washington Parish Schools: Schools will be open Friday, February 4, 2011.
St. Tammany Parish Schools: St. Tammany Parish Public Schools are planning to remain open Friday as the area continues to experience colder than average temperatures. School officials are closely monitoring weather conditions to determine if further action is needed.
St. James Parish Schools: Closed tomorrow, Friday, February 4th, 2011. School will resume on Monday, February 7th, 2011 at the usual time.
State Offices: State government offices will be closed on Friday, February 4, in the following parishes: Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Assumption, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Bienville, Bossier, Caddo, Calcasieu, Caldwell, Cameron, Catahoula, Claiborne, Concordia, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge, East Carroll, East Feliciana, Evangeline, Franklin, Grant, Iberia, Iberville, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, LaSalle, Lincoln, Livingston, Madison, Morehouse, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Pointe Coupee, Rapides, Red River, Richland, Sabine, St. Helena, St. James, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary, Tangipahoa, Tensas, Union, Vermilion, Vernon, Washington, Webster, West Baton Rouge, West Carroll, West Feliciana, and Winn.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
