Murphy Oil Corp. says it has reached an agreement with the federal Environmental Protection Agency covering emissions at refineries in Louisiana and Wisconsin.
Murphy said in a news release Monday that the agreement issimilar to those currently in force for refineries with about 90percent of the nation's refining capacity.
The company said the agreement covers its refineries at Meraux,La., and Superior, Wisc.
Tom McKinlay, senior. vice president for manufacturing at MurphyOil USA Inc., said the agreement calls for the company to commit upto $142 million over the next nine years to emission-reductionefforts at the two facilities.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
