Hornets "nine" enough to subdue Utah

The Hornets have claimed their first win in February.

Chris Kaman scored 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as the Hornets beat Utah 86-80. The Hornets snapped an eight game losing streak and won for only the 5th time this season in 28 games.

Gustavo Ayon and Marco Bellinelli scored 13 points each. The Hornets dressed only 9 players because of a rash of injuries. Among those missing were starting center Emeka Okafor and starting point guard Jarrett Jack.

The Hornets led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter.

New Orleans plays at Milwaukee Wednesday night.
